UrbnEarth, a startup focusing on home gardening, tasked me with creating concept designs for a smart urban gardening container. UrbnEarth’s goal is to make a system for anyone in an urban setting, even with very limited outdoor space, that allows them to grow their own vegetables. Taking their current mat gardening sheet as a jumping off point, they want a system that is self watering, low mess and has built in monitors for optimal plant care. Preformed, compressed soil pods containing seasonal vegetable seeds allows for an easy user interface. Just place a soil pod in an open space and the UrbnEarth system takes care of the rest.
