I am a Senior Industrial Designer specializing in early-stage design. With over 20 years of international experience, I work with universities and organizations to define design direction, frameworks, and educational programs before execution begins.

This professional and teaching experience has developed his skills to contextualize design for present and future scenarios in order to develop and consolidate the innovation and competitive advantages in the shape of products, services and business models to address new needs and problems within this dynamic and complex world scenario.

I have long been committed to diversity, and recognize the barriers faced by under-represented minorities in engaging in design education.

I have a proven record of design accomplishment regarding design for people with disabilities.

Concerns with diversity, equity and inclusion of people with disabilities have been central to my research, teaching and advising during my design career.

In my design professor capacities, I encouraged my students to ponder the roles they might play in the alleviation of real societal issues regarding people with disabilities and others under-represented groups. For me, design is a powerful tool to bring quality of life, dignity and economic independence to marginalized users.

As a design professor, I always infused at my students, my “Design Teaching philosophy” which is show pupils the hidden and invisible power of design; how good design changes society in a micro and macro perspective allowing professional and personal new possibilities.

In addition, I always served as a design – innovation mentor and advisor to underrepresented groups and local schools to prepare young students to be “active innovators” in a society with increasingly needs.
