• Hire, train, manage, and mentor a product development team of 6 designers, engineers, and interns and collaborate with production, marketing, and sales teams to develop products for owned and licensed brands including Allsop, Allsop Home and Garden, Digital Innovations, IYN Stands, DMOS Pro Shovel Tools, Clingo, and Gaiam.
• Design for manufacturability including metal bending and forming, injection molded plastics, and sewn goods
• Product development from sketching through 3D CAD, rapid prototyping (purchase and operate the onsite 3D printer, plastics and metals shop, sewing machine), sales samples, and production parts and packaging for mass retail
• Coordinate daily with US, Asian, European, and Canadian suppliers
• Sourcing and supplier relocation, factory inspection
• Project documentation from composing the scope and project requirements to first article inspection reports
• Exhibit design and construction for trade shows, at-show market research, and supplier contact

• Develop curriculum, course instruction, and evaluation
• Introduce SolidWorks software, guide Mechanical Engineering college students through part and assembly development, rapid prototyping, sheet metal, surfacing, and specification drawings for production

• Design and develop products from initial client meetings through production coordination (US, Europe, Asia)
• Experience with medical, electronics, scientific, consumer, and industrial products with 3 utility patents
• 3 years managing teams of designers and engineers as project lead
• Competitive and trend research, user testing and focus groups
• Design for injection molded and thermoformed plastic, cast and fabricated metals, and silicone
• Graphical user interface creation and website redesign

• Oversee designers in operation of Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator, laser engravers, and sublimation machinery
• Website administration, customer service and consulting, product displays, marketing materials
