Edward Batchelor

- Based in the Central Design Services team with experience handling projects for the majority of Pentland brands. - Primarily, this role involves outsole development from concept through to 3D design, rapid prototyping and manufacture. Brands I have worked with include Lacoste, Berghaus, Brasher and Ted Baker. - There has also been the opportunity to be involved in specialist projects, including the evolution of technical sports equipment for Speedo, Berghaus and Mitre. - Played a key role in setting up the 3D development team for shoe design and development across the brands. This has resulted in improved communication between the designers and factory suppliers, a much faster product turnaround, fewer sampling mistakes and a reduction in waste. - Regularly use presentation skills to communicate conceptual ideas to Senior Designers and Department Managers. - Responsible for 3D prototype printing for all Pentland brands. - Limited edition shoes collaboration with Gio Goi and citron - 3d designs and outsole design and development for a limited run of 400 pars in 4.5 months - Integral role in the aesthetic goggle design for the Speedo Olympic Project for the 2012 London Olympics.

- Design of sports training equipment and apparel, including the Mitre Revolve football that featured in the 2008 Football League. Design of sports training equipment for rugby, football and cricket. - Dedicated research into seasonal trends for individual sports clubs.

Further 2 months summer 2006 working with very experienced designers and model makers (former aerospace engineers) gaining valuable learning skills and techniques in design and prototyping - 7 week period working at a Manchester based design and model making consultancy specialising in point of sale stands and architectural models. - Involved physical work with experienced designers in the prototyping and finishing rooms. - Learned valuable skills and techniques in design and manufacture, including spray painting, fibre glassing, silicone moulding and wood finishing. - Helped the designers in the production of shelving units for Adidas products that were displayed in JD Sports.
