The furniture market in Malaysia is very cost driven. Due the constraint that as a designer face is that for every single piece of furniture that we designed took us a lot of time and effort from scratches to the final product, the price are always not competitive in compared with the mass produced furniture selling everywhere in the local furniture stores. The consumers simply need something cheap, good, and fast. To cater this, we are always looking for the best way to cut cost of products and omitted major part of the R&D process. But as a designer, i just hope to spread the idea of furniture design to the people around and hope that they would understand it one day.
