Evan Udelsman

Navigated large organization, working with senior administration to secure good real estate for digital design and fabrication lab. Compared and contrasted equipment for lab and became subject matter expert in 3D printing and laser cutting equipment. Took lead in architectural and infrastructure designs which were guided by student needs, safety, building code, security of equipment, and anticipated user flow resulting in a flagship room central to college tours.

Worked alongside senior designer and self-directed to complete multiple projects on-time to client satisfaction. Created in-context 3D renderings including color runs, technical illustrations and side-by-side market comparisons for client presentations. Created several rounds of form and control exploration for updated product line. Designed and quoted graphic decals for international product.

Worked collaboratively with other volunteers and Asylum members to improve the environment and build the community at Artisan’s Asylum. Notably, maintained and added to Wiki page outlining available and proper use of tools. Designed layered acrylic badge for donors and as introductory project for new makers.

Responsible for helping students with coding and electrical challenges during class. Held office hours to provide additional support and apply skills to personal projects for examples.

Worked along side Vivian helping with metal fabrication and construction of furniture pieces from initial jigging to final finishing. Learned welding, jigging, forming, and finishing techniques that helped create several commissioned benches and one for the Boston MFA.
