Elizabeth Carlisle

I joined the Modern Luxury design team as a Senior Art Director when it was beginning to branch out into custom publishing. Because of my background, I was tasked with the job of working on the presentation that would land us the business. Immediately after that, I was asked to redesign one of the tiles, Weddings magazines, immediately followed by the redesign of the main city titles, Interiors and finally Men’s Book. These were complete overhauls which required months of photo and font research and resulted in vast template libraries for each title. Shortly after my first year, I was promoted to Associate Design Director. In my current role, I continue to design all of the national content and am fortunate to closley work with our NYC-based fashion team to produce the monthly fashion and celerity features. Additional resposibilites include the review and approval of all editorial layouts. Occassionally, I also get to assist the Director of Photography in reviewing photography to make sure it adheres to high standards. All of this has been very rewarding as it has been the mentoring of new and junior designers.
