Design is about making positive improvements to peoples lives through the imagining of products that they use. Whether this is done by aiding an everyday task; making it easer or quicker. Or it's a product that is in itself is a joy to use or admire.



I've grown up in a time when progression, of what is possible in manufacturing and technology, is moving at an incredible pace. This can only excite designers. Doors are opening every year to new materials and new software that enables designers to create extremely exciting products.



Designers, however, can not just expect these doors to be opened for them. We have the responsibility to keep pushing the boundaries of what can be produced. Coming up with off the wall concepts and tailoring these concepts into workable designs is part of the profession we have chosen to lead forward.



As students, it's a daunting task being completely original and bring something different to the table. The big wide community of design can seem an impenetrable one but I do believe that with a lot of hard world and persistance, not just in design, you can achieve anything.



The values of common sense and respect play major roles in the way I work. Working hard for yourself and being fair to other people will present everyone with a much better environment to work in.



As designers, we are incredibly lucky to be able to create products from our drawings on paper and turn them into reality. With this position comes the possibility to aid everyday living, for everyone, everywhere.
