About
A portfolio is a collection of a person's best work. My portfolio is allowing me the chance to share some of my most unique/interesting things that I have come to work on over my last 4 years of college. I have always had the desire to create things, not just design them. When designing new things I have always tried to find way of doing something different or trying a method that has never been done before.
This portfolio contains examples of personal and academic projects that I have accomplished during my time in college. One thing I am most proud of is the fact that I have done things many others have not. My hobbies have always been something that was unique to me, and I have enjoyed taking experimental classes knowing I was the first to take it. Through further examination of my portfolio I hope you can get a sense of the work I have done and appreciate it for how it has come to define me.

Bachelors Mechanical Engineering & Design StudiesIowa State University2009 - 2014Iowa State University is the place where I first started my adventure into higher learning. Initially, I did not start in engineering. Like most students who go to college I was unsure of what I wanted to do professionally. After going through my first year in the design program I realized that it was not exactly what I expected. Yet this was not to say that it wasn't something I enjoyed and was good at it. Near the end of my freshmen year I decided to switch my major to mechanical engineering but I also decided to add a design minor as well. Since then, my academics have continued to improve and even exceed previous years. My ongoing achievements in academics have even lead me to start pursuing further education by means of a master's degree in mechanical engineering here at Iowa State.

Engineering InternJun 2012 - Present (14 years)I started this job as a manufacturing intern, spending my time on different types of machines learning how they work and how to operate them. By spending several weeks with the operators on each machine, I learned a great deal about the product which my company creates. I now work as a junior engineer assisting any of the other engineers on whichever project they currently need the most help on. My time in the shop on the machines as well as my knowledge from my classes have allowed me thus far to complete multiple projects and will hopefully lead me to bigger and greater challenges.

Undergraduate Research AssitantIowa State Atomic Force Microscopy LabAmes, IAJan 2013 - May 2013 (4 months)Last year I decided that graduate school was something that I might be interested in pursuing, so undergraduate research was a good way to see if it was something I'd want to do. After interviewing with several professors I decided on working in the Atomic Force Microscopy Lab under Dr. Sriram Sundararajan. During my time in the lab with him and his graduate student I was able to see the type of engineering that goes into research. I was also able to design and execute my own experiment in the lab which became a major focus of my semester during research study.
