Summer 2006 Internship: Mayo Clinic, SPARC Innovation Program - In the Summer of 2006, the SPARC Innovation Program hired me to help the Department of Nursing understand communication in nursing and uncover opportunities for improvement. Through user observation, interviews and workshops with nurses and other health care providers, we identified environmental distractions and a lack of awareness as key areas of opportunity. Synthesizing prototypes from these insights, we received very positive feedback from nurses.
