Systems Workshop: Adapting to a World with Rising Seas - Structured Planning is a method of breaking complex problems into their relevant parts and repeatedly tackling it using both top-down and bottom-up approaches. This year, we explored concepts for adapting to the impacts of climate change. In particular, my team addressed rising sea levels. We began with four general strategies: retreat, accommodation, protection and assimilation, disassembling each into its relevant functions, and reassembling adaptation concepts into a portfolio of systems.
