Homestead-Miami Speedway organizes the final nationalities of the season in the IRL Indy Auto Collection, NASCAR Sprint Mug Collection, Nationwide Series, Outdoor camping World Vehicle Series, and the Grand-Am Sports Car Collection. The speedway was constructed to assist Homestead rebound after the damage triggered by Typhoon Andrew. Groundbreaking began August 24, 1993, precisely one year after the typhoon.
