I trained in fashion design in New York at Parson's School of Design and in London at Central Saint Martin's. I have worked in the fashion industry in both cities. My deepest experience was operating my own small fashion brand, Ex Mermaid, in NYC, which I grew into a conceptual fashion line that showed during NY fashion week. I am endlessly curious and reassuringly capable. My chief talent is having a perpetually original viewpoint. I trace this gift to my childhood spent homeschooling in Tennessee in a television-free home. I have an enthusiastic love for French Literature, and a love of art, antiques, and ballet that I bring to my work. -

Founder/ Creative DirectorNew York, NYFeb 2013 - Present (13 years 4 months)I founded Ex Mermaid as a streetwear line to be marketed through Instagram and social media. As I followed my vision, it evolved into a conceptual fashion brand. I developed the line in the NYC garment district and have experience working with cutting rooms, factories, embroidery houses, and pattern makers to create a collection. I presented regular fashion shows during NYC Fashion Week giving me the opportunity to learn model casting, show concept, pr practices, and working with challenging deadlines.Through Ex Mermaid, I have gained experience managing creative teams, styling for video and photo shoots, employing interns and professionals, and producing and selling clothes.
