Balloon Cocoon (April 2011)

Watercolour and Ink on paper cube.

The “Balloon Cocoon” series depicts a sequence of illustrations drawn on 6 cubes to narrate the story of a character retrieving his balloon head which ultimately leads to his escape from the cube using his balloon head as a hot air balloon.

The focus of the work is to question the reason to be imprisoned in a fixated role. The character in the story realises the ability to challenge the framework when he witnesses the balloon doing so, which tempts his desire to break out from the conventional representation as he finds innovative ways to reclaim his head.
