Storyboard: a concept performance

In between late April and early May, I’ve been working with Camille Lesforis, a performance design and practice BA student from Central Saint Martins. For Lesforis’ final project, she has written and designed an interactive performance pieces which is inspired by video gaming experiences.

The performance is called ‘The Junkyard of Illusions’, featuring a one-participant experience simulating the isolated world within a dream-like environment. The performance is set in a space where the participant will have to go through 9 locked rooms, each with a special challenge and riddle.

Lesforis required my assistant because although she has the ideas and concepts, she found it very difficult to visualise it as storyboards and pictures. My job is to produce 9-10 drawings of the sets and provide storyboarding to the each room the participant is going to experience. I enjoyed the collaboration and realised how much teamwork can offer especially with people of different expertise.
