Florence Steer

Set up sound, lighting, and audio-visual packages for events, as well as operating sound and lighting systems during live music events and club nights. This involved me working long, often overnight shifts, doing physically demanding work. I also negotiated with bands and managers to ensure that everything was set up correctly, as well as working with external contractors. Through this job i gained my PASMA qualification.

I taught a variety of art skills, including woodwork, metalwork, photography, ceramics and leather work, to campers aged between 7 and 17. I worked individually with each camper to create a programme for them, based on their skill level. This improved my ability to multi-task, my creativity and my logical thinking.
I was also a bunk counsellor for 13 girls aged between 12 and 14, responsible for their physical and emotional well being. I worked with my co-counsellors to ensure that their summer was enjoyable, which improved my flexibility and adaptability to a range of different environments and situations.
