Education development and advocacy are a team effort but their success lies in team leadership. These are examples of such success. They include educational programming and advocacy events developed to explain and illustrate the merits of sustainability to state and municipal officials, and the general public.

Developed and launched three successful roadshow symposiums. Held across greater Chicago, "The Green Codes Landscape" was presented in partnership with the International Code Council and ASHRAE. This program also drew the interest of the Illinois Municipal League and was selected to be presented at its annual state conference.

Developed and launched three successful roadshow symposiums. Held across greater Chicago, "Building a Sustainable Community" advocated smart urban planning and neighborhood development. It earned the fellowship of multiple partners including the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, the Congress for the New Urbanism, and Farr Associates. This program drew the interest of and was presented at the American Planning Association-Illinois state conference. View PDF

A guide I co-developed to help volunteers across various branches of USGBC-Illinois successfully hold and manage advocacy/education programs.

Conceived and managed Advocacy Day 2013 for U.S. Green Building Council-Illinois working with a committee of 10. Met with 40-plus targeted legislators in Springfield, IL. Legislators received a wood thumb drive etched with the USGBC logo. The thumb drive contents are listed. As a result of this effort, the committee began working with legislators to create constituent meetings to further inform policymakers and residents on the benefits of green building.
