gneural is a multifaceted design studio in Boulder, Colorado run by Debbie Clapper, specializing in package design, branding, custom patterns, typography & publication design.

Based in the medium of original patterns, typographics and illustrations, Clapper / gneural brings design to a new relevance in modern society, whether through advertising, posters, socks, pillowcases or phone cases. This marriage of the ethereal with the everyday object gives those who experience her designs the opportunity to connect with the world and themselves in a deeper way, as well as simply enjoying the visual feast of lines and color.

Clapper’s technique ranges from hand-drawn to digital artwork with the goal of breaking out of the need for perceived perfection in order to give way to the beauty that is found in realistic designs. Her hand-drawn work is done without the aid of a ruler, allowing her pieces to better reflect the immediate power of the idea conveyed rather than fitting into a preconceived notion of what a piece “should” look like.

Based in Boulder, Colorado, gneural has found a home in the up-and-coming scene of artists and design. Clapper has had the opportunity to work with clients such as SmartWool, the Denver Broncos, Uncommon, Baxter Healthcare, BOA Technology and Hope Foods, among others.
