I am an Interaction and User Experience Designer with a background in Industrial Design and Mechanical Engineering, and have had the opportunity the put these skills to work in a variety of different roles.
Currently I am an Interaction Design at inMusic Brands, the parent company of twelve different pro and consumer audio and music gear brands, including Numark, Alesis, Akai Professional, Denon DJ, and AIR Music Technology. As a designer, I get to work across brands and platforms, including hardware embedded interfaces, desktop applications, and mobile iOS and Android applications, taking projects from rough wireframes through to consumer launch.
Previous to inMusic, I worked at ram industrial design, a small design consultancy with big clients, including Bose, Honeywell, Kodak, and Dorel Juvenile Group. At ram, one of my core roles was design research and strategy, helping to better understand the needs of our target users, analyze the competitive landscape, and forecast industry trends. During this time I also taught as an Adjunct Professor in Industrial and Interaction Design at Syracuse University.
I co-founded D-Build.org, a web and mobile startup focused on creating a sustainable industry around reclaiming building materials from building demolition. Despite growing press, numerous appearances at conferences, and successful proof of concept projects, D-Build fell victim to the recession and had to be put on hiatus in 2012.
