    Hank Blumenthal

I am a digital media executive, product manager, producer, storyteller, and academic who has created applications, augmented reality apps, virtual reality prototypes, iPhone and Android apps, websites, iTV interfaces, games, commercials, music videos, and many feature films. Awards include: Webby Awards for Sputnik7 and Epitonic sites, a Peabody for "The Great Space Coaster," and the Grand Jury Prize for "In the Soup" at the Sundance Film Festival.

Most recently, I produced "The Walk" with Michael Mailer, directed and written by Dan Adams and released through Vertical Entertainment (on June 10, 2022). I was an Assistant Professor at Bowling Green State University until June 2020 in AR/VR, interactive media, and video production. I earned a Ph.D. in 2017 focusing on augmented and virtual reality, transmedia, interactive storytelling, and games from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where I also was an Instructor. Before pursuing my Ph.D., I was a Program Manager, Emerging Media at Schematic (now WPP/Wunderman Thompson) working on multi-platform projects for Microsoft, Viacom, Conde Nast, Cablevision, Comedy Central, Panasonic, and Nickelodeon, among others.

Earlier in my career, I served as Director, Post Production for IFC Films; Director of Design and Production for NBC/Bravo/IFC Digital Media; Director of Production at Palm Pictures, where I handled two streaming platforms and over 100 other websites; and as a Producer at R/GA, where I produced sonystyles.com and sothebys.com, among others.

I have produced 15 feature films, including In the Soup, Risk, and Strawberry Fields. In addition to feature-length films, I have produced commercials and directed award-winning music videos, shorts, and interactive drama.
