Heidi Appel

Heidi is an accomplished artist who graduated from The Columbus College of Art and Design in 2000. Since college Heidi has freelanced for several notable companies such as; Hasbro, Express, Bath and Body Works, Lane Bryant, Chute Gerdeman, The Andrew Jergens Company, Disney, American Greetings, Paul Frank, Taylor Swift, and AG Properties. In addition, Heidi has over 12 years of industry experience having been a full time Graphic Designer and Surface Designer for American Greetings. During her time at American Greetings, Heidi developed the best selling Taylor Swift brand for American Greetings and Taylorswift.com. The greeting cards and merchandise she created are sold in AG stores, Target, WalMart and on Taylorswift.com.

Heidi is an expert in branding children’s consumer products. She held an instrumental role in developing the new branded look for the Strawberry Shortcake franchise. Her designs can be seen internationally on Strawberry Shortcake toys by Hasbro, on apparel and accessories, Strawberryshortcake.com, video games, and in the SS entertainment shown on the Hub and in movie theaters. Heidi has also developed children’s branding for Disney. She created the surface design patterns for a permanent attraction called Stitches Super Sonic Stage located in the Magic Kingdom.

Heidi is a master at conceptualizing new brands for women. She created a new brand of premium, hand-made greeting cards for American Greetings called AG Premier. During the design process, her line was exposed to several focus groups throughout the US. It was deemed, “Beautiful, Romantic, Perfect…” by consumer test subjects. AG Premier is currently available at CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid and American Greetings stores.
