      Whitecroft Lighting Ltd.
      Manchester, United Kingdom
      Jul 2012 - Dec 2014 (2 years 5 months)
Working at Whitecroft gave me an excellent start in the industrial design industry as a graduate.

I started work in the New Product Development team,
which was a great opportunity for me to show my enthusiasm and creative skills in developing new products for the company catalogue.

As part of the graduate development program, after 9 months I transferred into the Specials design team, where I worked on fast paced job-specific projects with very tight deadlines. This type of work required me to be extremely adaptive and organized, as I would take on up to 3 new projects in a week.

      My position at Whitecroft involved:

      - Rapid development of a design solution based on an initial brief
      - Testing new concepts by creating proof of principle prototypes
      - Presenting concepts to the stakeholder group at a DFM meeting
      - Detail designing using Solid Edge to create a full working 3D assembly
      - Using the generated models to create concise 2D manufacturing drawings with tolerances
      - Setting up full part codes, BOMs and factory routings using the ERP system
      - Ordering in-house production samples for feedback on build and for sales samples
      - Ordering samples of out-sourced parts in time for use in the production sample
      - Holding 'DFI' meetings to trial installation methodology and packaging quality
      - Creating part codes and full drawings for the entire product stack
      - Releasing part codes and drawings for final manufacture
