Igor Chak

In 2014 I started to work as a freelance designer focusing on industrial design, prototyping, design stagnates and design branding.

Designed and developed a unique piece of furniture (couch) that went viral through the media. Due to high consumer demand the couch went into limited production in 2012, and in to mass production in 2014.

 Managed a talented team of 10 designers  Created a new line of FMCG Products from concept to production (flashlights, power extenders, home USB chargers, electrical splitters, super glue products, LED bulbs)  Established new design processes and management  Created innovative packaging for the new products.

 Developed corporate design strategy, including design philosophy, design language and iconic design elements for the whole product portfolio.  Within 9 month was able to implement design strategy in 6 projects that have already gone or have started to go into full production.  Executed and lead the development of industrial design projects from concept to production stage  Established the effective design and project management processes  Was heavily involved in outsourcing for prototyping and manufacturing  Oversaw the manufacturing and engineering processes to minimize cost

Used research, sketching and modeling skills to design and engineer a luxury type single seater sports aircraft.

 Was responsible for designing, developing and building of prototype phone models and working out engineering flaws.  Daily tasks included: maintenance of laboratory equipment, building and testing of prototypes, conduction of tests and performance of data analyses to support engineers and designers.  Designed and developed a fully functional prototype for a major motion pictures company. Was actively working with marketing and production crews to deliver the best results for the project.  Developed and researched new innovative ways to make phone models more interactive and realistic.  Facilitated communications between design and prototyping staff at 2 different locations.  Developed ongoing professional relationships with multiple vendors to ensure quality and timely completion adherence to customer requirements.  Built and tested circuit boards for conceptual prototype models  Researched and proposed materials for concept development.

 Assisted in supervising the finishing/paint department.  Provided the sales department with a reasonable time frame for the upcoming work orders.  Matched colors, painting parts, and made sure that parts were well fabricated and presentable to the client.  Responsible for training and making sure that subordinates were up-to-date.

 Was responsible for providing support and services to clients through the thoughtful, professional and timely execution of industrial models.  Daily responsibilities included being able to sand and finish parts while maintaining tolerances and fits, designed and fabricated quality RTV molds, cast parts from various resins.  Supported shop’s objective and participated as a team player with an attitude of continuous improvement and growth as it pertained me to increase the professionalism, speed and accuracy of the work required.  Built and maintained positive relationship with clients to improve customer service.
