Sean Kieley (Industrial Designer Montreal)

In my early years at IBM, IDEO, and Crown Equiptment I was exposed to a wide range of design activity from consultancy to corporate. I continued to 'cut my teeth' at GSD, a design consulting firm in Montreal, where I became an expert at Alias and Pro-Engineer surfacing. This became the place where I found my first expert skills in design - transforming a concept from a sketch through the 3d process, into a real product. I did this through developing advanced 3d surfacing and detailing skills.

As an entrepreneur building my own firm for almost 9 years now, brainstorming and concept development have become elementary to my process. This we do with fierce speed and creativity.

In recent years we have launched in a new direction - cutting our manufacturing teeth. We have developed several dedicated resources in the far east as one of my partners at Surface ID is an Asian woman from Shanghai, Nicky Chen. She works in Montreal at SurfaceID as a full partner, and we have hired dedicated staff and developed several facilities in China.

We have developed several products from inception, through manufacturing and importing, and can't wait to see what the future holds!
