James Ma

As a drafter for CREO, I was responsible for creating production ready, environmental graphics for retail malls, resorts, residential, commercial, and institutions. Working closely with other departments, I was tasked to ensure that my drawings were completed with accuracy and at the highest standards.

Duties included managing the sales floor, merchandising produce and related items, as well as managing inventory, produce ordering, creating and maintaining product displays, and processing freight

As a designer for Lotus I was responsible for assisting the staff designer with all stages of design, from conceptualization of fixtures and/or exhibits, to helping prepare presentations for their clients. Other responsibilities include product development, to further explore and design products. Working for Lotus allows me do all stages of the design process which includes, research, design, and prototyping in order to fully understand if these product can be completed as designed.

In this role I was given numerous responsibilities that included designing exhibits/trade show booths for well established companies, and preparing presentations, other duties include conceptual work, material research, detailing/engineering, set-up instructions, and managing projects from conception through installation. I was given the opportunity to work with Boeing, Starbucks and WaMu as well as the Canadian British Columbia Consulate for their pavilion in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
