I’m an art development editor with extensive experience in medical and scientific publishing for higher education and detailed knowledge of art direction, illustration, design, and scientific content.
I develop engaging visual programs for print and digital science education products by working with authors, editors, and marketing teams to develop effective and efficient instructional design that is tailored to readers of various levels. Sketches, mockups, layouts, concept art, and style sheets are created to guide artists and compositors through the production process with consistent results.
My success can be attributed to excellent communication skills, listening skills, science background, and the ability to work with outstanding teams. -

MAMS Biomedical VisualizationUniversity of Illinois at Chicago1995 - 1997UIC is one of only four currently accredited programs that offers a graduate degree in Medical Illustration: • Received a Vesalius Trust Scholarship and research grant to assist in the creation of an immersive virtual reality simulation of temporal bone anatomy. The simulator evolved into a training module for surgical residents. • Completed an internship in multimedia instructional design at the UIC College of Pharmacy.

2015 Pearson Science Product of the Year for Biochemistry: Concepts and Connections 1st edition by Appling Anthony-Cahill and Mathews. This book was Pearson's first major effort in a new market and exceeded its sale goals.
