Hi, my name is Joshua Grabiec and I work at the confluence of creativity and function, where visual and technical considerations become art. I believe parameters, process, and workflow are necessary for creativity to bloom and thrive. At every place I’ve worked I’ve used these tools to grow their current capabilities and create opportunities for expansion. I am looking for my next challenge in a company that needs structured creativity to grow.

  • Experience
    • Vice President of Operations / Lead Designer
      FloorPlans3D
      Greensboro, NC
      Feb 2019 - Present (7 years 4 months)
FloorPlans3D was built from the ground-up as a subsidiary within Stir Creative Group as a full service 3D rendering and illustration service for the multi-family housing industry. I designed, coded, built, and maintained the full product suite and production procedures singlehandedly. I oversaw teams creating hundreds of deliverable files a week. FloorPlans3D quickly became a significant source of Stir Creative Group's revenue, reaching 66% of total sales in 2024.
    • Art Director
      Stir Creative Group
      Greensboro, NC
      Apr 2015 - Present (11 years 2 months)
At Stir Creative Group, I brought a production-house mindset to a boutique design firm, resulting in more efficient procedures, cleaner files, better organization, enhanced customer service, and a greater focus on the small details of the bigger picture. I worked with a broad and diverse client base, which made a wide range of skills necessary: building websites, creating and organizing catalogs, writing blog posts, coding and building eBlast campaigns, designing logos and brand identities, managing social media accounts, photo-retouching, and project management.
    • Designer and Painter
      Fresh Finishes
      Jul 2011 - Present (14 years 11 months)
My wife and I now have our own decorative furniture painting business. We work out of our home and our specialty is reviving old pieces of furniture with fresh coats of paint, decorative and faux finishes, and warm, worn distressed looks. Together we've painted hundreds of pieces for many happy clients, and our pieces have been sold at Thrill of the Hunt and have even won awards at art shows.
    • Art Production Manager
      Brisco Apparel
      Jul 2014 - Apr 2015 (9 months)
At Brisco I enacted new company-wide procedures that increased efficiency of both art and production departments and reduced errors to 1.2%. I increased the quality of graphics and execution of preexisting graphics. I also assumed responsibility for design and digitizing of embroidered graphics
    • Artist/Graphic Designer/Separator
      Castle Shirt Company
      Apr 2012 - Jun 2014 (2 years 2 months)
At Castle Shirt Company I was able to reach the zenith of high-end screenprinting, working with the most exclusive clients with the most exacting specifications and complicated artwork: Disney, Universal Studios, NASCAR, and more. In the case of NASCAR, sometimes these complicated designs would have be be turned around in a single day because of rush orders for events on the weekend. We always delivered on time.
    • Art Department Manager
      Custom Screens Ink
      Jun 2007 - Apr 2012 (4 years 10 months)
As Art Department manager, I metered workflow to meet customer demands efficiently and by the next day. Successfully predicting production issues days in advance allowed us to minimize down time and accept more production orders. The trust our high-profile customers had in my high quality art work brought in many exclusive orders.
    • Advanced Graphic Artist/Seperator
      Liberty Screenprint
      Jul 2006 - Mar 2007 (8 months)
In my first month at Liberty I broke the record for number of jobs completed in one month by over twice the previous record. I took part in Liberty’s world renowned Research and Development and created techniques that simulated natural materials (alligator/snake skin, leather) created faux-embroidery effects (including beading and sequins) and many other techniques never before seen on a printing press.
    • Graphic Artist/Separator
      ArtFX
      Feb 2003 - Jul 2006 (3 years 5 months)
ArtFX's art department fed four different printing facilities and I maintained a smooth flow of quick-turn art to all of them. I trained myself to be the only high-end separator in the international company, in addition to creating artwork, branding, and advertising for three in-house resortwear brands and one urban fashion clothing line.
