Promise cottage villa has been the most brilliant, artistic and poetic project I was privileged to work on until this day with all my dedication and love. The house is placed in a wide homestead in one of the most beautiful natural areas of Portugal, Alentejo. The concept consists of a radial configuration where a considerable bath area takes place in its centre and is surrounded by its other programs: living room, kitchen, bedrooms and an underground exhibition room for a sculpture masterpiece. The sculpture of the renowned Portuguese artist Rui Chafes constitutes a theme of this project. One of the sculptures is present in a secret underground room within the main house. The others are placed and spread outside all around the landscape. Displaced from the cottage there is also a swimming pool with a shelter, a smaller villa for the cottiers to live in and a garage. My work mainly concerned the conceptual idea and shape design of the pool’s shelter.
