Karen Hudson has over 25 years experience in the graphic design field.
Karen’s current freelance client is Victor Herbert Renaissance Project LIVE!, for whom she creates marketing materials, brochures, ad campaigns, writes press releases, and creates fundraising initiatives.
Currently, Hudson is a freelance graphic designer in the film and tv production industry. Favorite TV production jobs she has worked on include Younger (TV Land) and Instinct (CBS), Bad Education (HBO) and FortyYear-Old Version (Netflix).
In her past years in graphic design she worked in the publishing field as a senior designer and as Art Director at Scholastic Inc., designing more than 75 titles per year, including the best-selling series Animorphs.
Publishing and entertainment clients include HarperCollins Children’s Publishing, Disney Hyperion Press, BMG Entertainment and Sony Broadway Masterworks creating cd packaging, marketing materials and a digital image archive.
Hudson is a graduate of State University College at Buffalo with a BS degree in Graphic Design.
As a member of USA Local 829, Hudson has completed anti racism training, and is on two committees to create more diversity in her field.
Equity Through Design Mentorship Program: Karen was a college liaison for Queens College and Borough of Manhattan Community College.
Equity By Design: Graphic Designers in Entertainment: Karen collaborates with committee members and shares presentations of our work to BIPOC students and professionals in our field to create awareness of the job opportunities available in film and tv production.
