Investigate, plan, and coordinate minor space alterations and major renovations of biomedical research facilities. Maintain project budgets associated with these efforts. Provide design and construction oversight to assigned projects. Develop and implement architectural standards and project management requirements, as well as statements of work (SOWs) for major renovations. Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental requirements of GSA, federal, state, and local codes. Solicit and evaluate bids and proposals for major renovations, responses to RFIs, and selection of contractors and vendors. Review bids for compliance with architectural requirements, criteria, standards, and codes. Monitor and assess effectiveness of contractors in relation to contractual requirements on projects. Resolve issues or conflicts as they arise during the completion of alternations and renovations. Analyze, develop and implement new policies and procedures surrounding architectural requirements for animal research and healthcare facilities.

National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, DIR/IAMB Space + Facilities Management
Oversee day-to-day space and facilities needs for the DIR. Maintain and expand accurate space and assets records for all NHLBI property. Provide key support to Project Architects during planning, design, contracting, and construction administration for major renovation projects. Independently assess, design, and execute minor alterations projects for laboratory and office modifications, including: site survey, development of scope of work, obtainment and review of contractor bids, purchasing and receipt of materials, coordination and oversight of schedule. Conduct research for and development of standard branch operations, including software acquisition and implementation, CAD standards.
