As Graphics Manager, I lead the daily operations for the in-house graphics team at Simpson Racing, a premier motorsports safety brand. Managing the full spectrum of visual production—from digital concept to large-format physical output. Directed a team of 3 designers in creating product graphics, and Racing Team & Driver uniform designs while personally overseeing critical technical operations. Owned the end-to-end workflow, including the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of large-format printers to ensure the highest quality and timely production of team uniforms from gloves and shoes to pit crew shirts and finally the driver and team racing suits. Graphics Manager
Los Angeles, CA
Jun 2004 - Apr 2014 (9 years 10 months)
In my first stint at Simpson Racing I was hired to be the 2nd graphic designer. When the designer who hired me left, I was promoted to manager. From then through the remainder of my time I was in charge or a small department mainly consisting of myself and one other designer, but for some periods two other designers. It was during this period that we began to bring in-house printing production online. We went from engineering garments in-house but sending them to vendors to print and transfer, to doing the complete package. At first we had 2 large format printers that was eventually doubled to 4. I oversaw all production, maintenance and inventory on the print shop, in addition to my duties as the Graphic Design manager making sure our look was on point and race teams stood out.
