Hand-powered crank under base
evoked emotions: urgency stress fear disorientation confusion important qualities: preparedness communication comfort light + visibility intuitive product
observations: many LED models some radio models few hand rechargeable batteries (crank, squeeze, etc.) feature-rich + aesthetically pleasing = design opportunity
intuitive buttons + dials integrates radio battery charging crank feature comfortable form not embarrassing to leave in sight creates awareness of presence accents home decor
potential users of varying hand sizes rated different forms and gave preferences determined: a slightly smaller diameter and a more gentle curve were needed

Emergency survival solution in the form of a flashlight/radio addressing form + function while creating an aesthetic that users won't want to hide in a drawer, but rather leave out in the open- always available for usage. In collaboration with Noah Wangerin and Michael Hansen.
