Melissa Smith

I am a graphic designer with 20 years of experience in all kinds of media. I was a Communications Design Specialist for 9 years at the University of Waterloo. Creating effective marketing materials for the Recruitment office as well as various departments. I was an integral part in the Design of Recruitment campaigns as well as various successful launches within the University. Producing effective print design, print production and illustration. Managing projects from start to finish in a team setting as well as one my own.

In the summer of 2006, eager to learn more and to utilize skills I gained throughout my career I started my own graphic design company, Lakehouse Creative. Since September of 2006, I have been offering custom graphic web and print design with a special emphasis on balancing both the artistic and the technical sides. I am a part time College Instructor and enjoy inspiring my students working in PR and Multimedia using CS6. I live to design and enjoy every aspect of the creative process.
