I have never climbed Mt. Everest. I have never met a platypus; and I have never defeated an enemy with a single blow. There is excitement in knowing that there are still things that I have not done and places that I have not been. As my bucket list continues to grow, my eagerness to explore grows with it.
What others see as a simple text layout or graphic, I see as an opportunity to construct a combination of images that has never existed prior to that moment. One of my favorite adventures as an artist is the endeavor of seizing a mistake and using it in a way that I didn't intend to. More often than not, my favorite pieces have resulted from an unintentional key stroke.
“The life of a designer is a life of fight. Fight against the ugliness. Just like a doctor fights against disease. For us, the visual disease is what we have around, and what we try to do is cure it somehow with design.” — Massimo Vignelli
I have an unusual way of thinking. I can find a humorous and light hearted way to approach many subjects that are often overlooked by adding a satirical element or quirky illustration. I enjoy this quality and I love that I am always able find a new and fresh approach to things. I like to use themes, in both my photography and my designs.
I like to research subjects or events and see how I can interpret them into what I am doing. It brings that excitement of uncharted territory back to me so that another adventure may begin.
