Prior to evolving in the interior design domain, I was a European Media research analyst.
Although I have been working in the economics and marketing research field for more than fifteen years, I have been attracted by drawing and aesthetics since I was a child.
I discovered the profession of interior designer while I was doing a career assessment at the age of 44, and realized it was just the perfect fit for me!
In 2011, I have decided to enroll in the distant learning program of the UK and Ireland-based Limperts Academy of Design (now the Design Ecademy).
After my first year of studying (stage 1 of the Higher National Diploma program), I got my Diploma in interior design and decoration with the grade of Distinction. Still waiting for my final grade related stage 2 of the HND program (Commercial Design) but I am confident I will graduate (associate degree) by the end of November 2015.
My ambition though is to become a certified interior designer. My objective is therefore to take the NCIDQ exam (first part) in 2016.
So far, the Limperts Academy of Design’s program has provided me with skills in the following areas: research and analysis, project presentation (sketches, mood and sample boards), furnishings and finishes selection, technical/construction drawings (floor plans, elevations, RCP, electrical plans, detailed drawings), and contracting documents (specifications, letter of agreement, contracts).
Besides, in my former career, I have developed strong verbal and written communication skills, both in French and English, as well as excellent time and project management skills.
I am proficient in Microsoft Office 2011, Photoshop, Sketch up Pro and have some basic knowledge of Autocad 2D too.
