    Specializing in soft goods and more specifically luggage and travel accessories, and baby carriers/ harnesses- After designing clothing for ten years I decided to return to school to endeavor new design skills and a new perspective. Since graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design I have been designing for VICTORINOX/ TRG, BELKIN, NIKE, BLUE FLAME, TARGET, INFANTINO and GOODJOY DESIGN.

    • Lead designer and developer
      Infantino
      Sep 2010 - Present (15 years 9 months)
      Lead designer and developer for juvenile products and baby carriers. I design harnesses
      for carrying newborns and infants (I have received five patents for engineering and design for Infantino, specific to baby carriers). In addition to carriers I design bath time products, bouncers and travel accessories like travel cots stroller accessories and baby items storage solutions for cars.

      Designed a series of ipod cases for the NANO and video pod. Concepts include: a transit case for urban commuters cases for young girls who want trendy accessories to hand on a lanyard. A 2-in-one case that is a wallet and ipod combination. Work included: research, sketching, and creating tech packages.
    • Contract Designer
      Me & Ro
      Designed a line of packaging for Me & Ro's luxury jewelry line. Job included: model making and sketch models for quick proof of- concept, material research and vendor research in china. Packaging includes five box sizes and each box has three box parts: paper board outer shell with padding and silk cover, walnut interior and walnut ring and EVA molded inserts with ultra suede laminate. Tech packages as well as sketch models were given to the manufacturer for reference. Past jobs for Me & Ro include: designing and overseeing production for display modules for all Me & Ro stores and showrooms. Lowepro Contract Designer: This project was specific to the camera bags and accessories market. I designed day back packs for professional photographers who hike and climb as part of their job- a niche product for photographers who photograph rock climbers, mountain climbers, bikers and other mountain sports. In addition I designed other photography peripherals. All designs went into production.

      Designed a line of beach bags and beach travel gear for Nike Beach 2006. Job included: material research, hardware research, sketching, rendering and creating mood and presentation boards.       Lead designer for Victoria women’s luggage collection and ARCH 4.0 men’s business line. Designed and participated in all phases of the design process. Created all specs for development and manufacturing. The new Victoria line was produced and well received.

      BDesigned a line of bags as accessories to the Blue Flame line of electronics. Blue Flame is a small electronics design firm in Boston specializing in niche markets. The bags support their philosophy about design and caters to a niche market of high end electronics. Participation includes a patent.

      Swing for Crate & Barrel
      Mar 2010 - Sep 2010 (6 months)
      Designed wine racks, magazine racks, serving trays and bed trays, lazy Susan and coasters for Crate and Barrel. Created inspiration and platform boards, concept generation through quick sketches and consumer and material research. Three phases of the design process were presented. Materials were ceramic, wood and metals.

      Case Concepts/ Royal Philips
      Aug 2008 - Nov 2008 (3 months)
      Designed three cases for carrying and storing a medic’s defibrillator for military use. Three versions for three different scenarios were needed, and included one for combat use with all the accessories, combat use with minimal aid and accessories, and a personal pouch sized for cycling or police use. Compartmentalization and efficiency were the primary focus. Final concept included a “mini” fold out work station for a combat situation. The case was primarily soft with some integrated rigid components. This item was manufactured.

      Designed house wares, totes, bar ware, lunch totes. Job included: design and development of new products. Directing projects and overseeing a small design staff. Built NY manufactures in a wide variety of materials, but produces mainly neoprene totes and electronic peripherals. Other materials include: PP, cast steel, santoprene, EVA foam and PU foam. I traveled to china many times and have a good understanding of several manufacturing techniques.

      Jun 2005 - Jun 2006 (1 year)
      Designed the unisex line of travel accessories for the Victorinox brand. Job included: designing and aiding in the development of thirty products- line includes everything from flat packing systems to customized cases for traveling converter kits. Complete tech packages were created for each design. In addition, I designed a women’s luggage set, a partner to the men’s NXT 3.0 collection. In 2009 I designed the Callaway women’s golf collection and accessories for the fairway. Callaway and Victorinox were both licensed to TRG for design, development and manufacturing of the brands. Victorinox has been repatriated back to Switzerland.

      Designed a first aid and preparedness kit for the American Red Cross. The project was a nonprofit endeavor with proceeds going to the Red Cross. The first aid and preparedness kit are made from an EVA foam- sold as a set. In addition to the preparedness kit I designed concepts for the Isaac Mizrahi Luggage collection as well as laptop cases for other brands sold at Target. Jobs included: creating inspiration boards and platform boards, concept generation through quick sketches and consumer and material research. In some cases tech packages were needed.
