Lisa is an Artist and Educator, Interior Architect and Environmental Graphic Designer. She holds a Masters Degree of Interior Architecture from Rhode Island School of Design, Collegiate Teaching Certificate from Brown University, and a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Pennsylvania State University.
Her professional work promotes the balance of high quality design and environmental consciousness to create holistic design solutions. Lisa’s work has been published in magazines including: The New York Times, Artforum, Denver Westword, Biennial of the Americas, Interior Design Magazine, The Boston Globe, and New Haven Register. She has been awarded the National Endowment for the Arts “Our Town” Grant, 1st Place in the ASID Crystal Awards, 1st Place in the IIDA International Sustainable Design Competition and the Bessie Award In Performance, Installation and New Media among others.
Over the last 17 years she has taught a variety courses in art, foundations, sustainable design, interior architecture, and furniture at the University of Colorado Denver, Naropa University, Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design, and Rhode Island School of Design. She wants design and education to be a practice of liberation in order to make possible the kind of risk-taking and thoughtful dialogue that leads to growth on various scales in a community.
