Current Role (Shaw Media, 2019 - present)
Shaw Media acquired the NewsTribune in 2019. My role shifted to focus on niche publications, project management, and scheduling. I coordinate content, design and layout numerous magazines and special sections throughout the year.

Graphic Designer/Special Project Editor (Miller Group Media, 2017-2019)
I filled a jack of all trades role. I designed newspaper ads, served as prepress backup, covered all positions in my department, and worked with sales and editorial to produce magazines and special sections. I was the project manager for special projects.

In my role as page designer I designed pages for various newspapers, wrote headlines, and proofread pages. I ensured deadlines were met consistently throughout my shift. I also helped train new hires, and covered for team leads. I was involved with testing and troubleshooting templates, software, processes, and new technology before it was implemented into the design center workflow.

I was a copy editor / page designer for the Design House branch of GateHouse Media. I edited copy for AP style and designed pages for various newspapers. This was a temporary position due to the company relocating the design center to Austin, TX.

I did some freelance work while taking online courses to update my design skills and knowledge.

I was responsible for maintaining the professional image of the college through various forms of visual communication. I created the initial brand identity and usage guidelines for the college, the logo, in print and digital. I managed projects from conception to completion.

I designed ads for the newspaper and assisted my supervisor with outside job work for clients in the Princeton area.

I covered social and school events in the Mendota area. I attended school board meetings, wrote feature articles, did photography and film developing, proofreading, and newspaper layout.
