I am an enthusiastic and determined individual, who is eager to learn and build upon the variety of skills that I already possess. I take great pleasure in sourcing inspiration for myself, taking inuence from a variety of disciplines including art, textiles and architecture. I also use my passion for photography to inform and inspire design decisions. I thrive when I am able to work directly with industry and believe I have skills to offer that a design agency would be eager to explore whilst helping me to develop my knowledge and career as a designer.

  • Education

      The Nottingham Trent University
      2010 - 2015
    • Foundation degree Art, Design and Media
      Buckinghamshire New University
      2009 - 2010
During my Foundation Studies I relished in the freedom to experiment with unusual materials, which in turn inspired more conceptual design ideas. I was captivated with making a piece of furniture out of reclaimed or discarded materials that people regard as junk and I volunteered and worked with an MA student on producing a piece of furniture out of a cable drum.

    • Intern
      Out of the Dark
      Jun 2012 - Sep 2012 (3 months)
The majority of my role at this small establishment was heavily based on ideas generation. I worked closely in conjunction with other designers on commissions, involving myself with all aspects of the company, including networking with potential clients. I also designed and made a product range, overseeing the development process from concept to product. My products were on display at Designers Block 2012, London alongside the companies` other pieces. I have since made my first sale as a designer as a result of this, with a small number of them bought for a concept store in Saudi Arabia. I used every aspect of the company that I involved myself with as an opportunity to learn, from such things as collaborating with designers to creating my own product with the company.
    • Intern
      C Lawrence Upholstering Ltd
      Sep 2011 - Sep 2011
At this small company I gained an understanding of upholstery techniques alongside developing concepts. I worked directly with clients and also designed concepts that were prototyped for their in house collection.
    • Marquee Staff (during Henley Royal Regatta)
      Phyllis Court Club
      Jun 2010 - Jul 2010 (1 month)
When I worked at Phyllis Court Club, I enjoyed working under great pressure when faced with a huge influx of customers and was pleased that I remained organised and delivered good service. Other responsibilities included greeting the members Phyllis Court with a polite manner, and upholding the reputation of the club.
    • Catering Assistant
      The Beaconsfield Golf Club
      2006 - 2009 (3 years)
    • Intern
      Pinewood Shepperton plc
      Oct 2006 - Oct 2006
During my time at Pinewood Studios I worked in both the office and the set design department, the more creative side of the company. The insights I got into concepts behind specic sets and construction methods of these were of great interest to me. I also worked closely with the props department, observing how they created pieces that made up the finer detailing of the sets. I hold a great interest in the performing arts and was a member of The Wycombe Swan Youth Theatre as this work experience sparked an interest in design for film and television.
