Shawinigan Duties: Overview R&D projects and Staff (15 persons team ) - Design and 3-D modeling of new boat models from conceptual sketches to complete tooling and production plans. - Certify boats in accordance with relevant standards and regulations. - Provide production staff and suppliers with drawings and specifications. - Design sub-assembly parts (tanks, railings, windshields, etc ). Deal with suppliers. - Lay out propulsion systems, engine room and system layouts. - Perform stability analysis ISO 12217-1 ) Major achievements: - Designed several express cruisers, runabouts and center console models. - Implemented a foam flotation system for small boats. Performed flotation tests. Performed Maneuvering and stability tests on all boats models. - Organize the process in order to obtain certification of all boat models from CE, NMMA and Transport Canada - Designed a 19'experimental stepped hull runabout. - Implemented different types of propulsion systems ( stern-drives, I/B, pods ) in express cruisers - Proposed improvements on mechanical systems, ventilation, safety related issues, structures.

Shawinigan Cadormat ( previously Cadorette ) was one of the oldest pleasure boat builder in Canada. - Designed and Developed a 14 feet and a 15 feet outboard powered speedboats (Azura series) - Supervised tooling and prototypes.

KMV Boats was a Canadian branch of Norwegian KMV Boats. Boats were comparable to Boston Whaler and sizes were from 11-foot skiff to a 26-foot cruiser. I designed two runabouts more oriented to the North American market. The plant has closed in 1991.

Cadorette Marine was an important Canadian manufacturer of powerboats that bought the assets from Doral in 1992.Cadorette Marine was then building boats under the Doral and Thundercraft brands. - Design new boat models from conceptual sketches to complete tooling and production plans - Provide production staff and suppliers with production drawings and specifications. - Design sub assembly parts ( tanks, railings, windshields, etc ). Deal with suppliers. - Supervise tooling along with shop foreman. Major achievements : - Designed new lines of runabouts and motor cruisers - Implemented efficient tooling techniques for large and small parts. - Developed modular dash panels for the cruisers.
