A logo for a client specializing primarily in handmade, one-of-a-kind crocheted shawls. Per the client's request, the symbol was "to embody, in no particular order: organic (natural fibers + made by hand); vibrant (I LOVE COLOR); classic/vintage (crocheted shawls are not exactly modern); elegance." Beyond this, the client shared an affinity for logomarks involving depictions of creatures, and was the caretaker for a pair of chinchillas. These characteristics provided particular inspiration for what ultimately became the final symbol.
From the client website: "I wanted to honor some of the amazing women who have contributed something notable to the world, so each piece is named after a woman I admire. Every listing contains a small biography as well as a representative quote. We are where we are because of women who withstood accusations of "nastiness", who persisted in the face of opposition, who refused to let censure or violence stop them from pursuing their goals. I hope that their stories inspire you and fill your heart with appreciation for all that our foremothers have given us!" — Ideation & Development
