Graphic Specialist and page layout designer
I spent five years
News with the Atlanta Journal and Constitution newspaper, in the newsart department, producing daily illustrations, graphics, maps & charts, as well as developing related web media, calling upon a variety of styles from pen & ink to watercolors, caricatures to full blown information graphics, photo-illustration and technical illustration, clay modeling and paper sculpture. While at the Atlanta newspaper, I also worked on special projects collaborating with Cox, the Georgia Press Association, and the Turner Foundation. The AJC also sent me to the American Press Institute in Washington for a week's seminar on newspaper graphics and photography.

producing marker visuals and felt tip ad layouts for clients like ICI While at college, I was offered a matte painting position on the movie "Lifeforce" under John Dykstra (special effects Oscar winner for Star Wars) as an apprentice to British illustrator Tom Adams, creating huge matte paintings, aliens, models and prosthetics. I learned more in that eight months as an apprentice to Tom Adams, than I learned in three years of college.
