About
Matthew Phillip Gilliland is an artist and arts educator based in Norman, OK. His artistic background has run a gamut from consumer product design to contemporary art.
After serving in the U.S. Army and graduating from the Art Institute of Dallas with a degree in graphic design, Matthew built a fruitful career as a concept artist and illustrator in the toy and novelty product industry. After taking a side job teaching painting for Pinot’s Palette, Matthew discovered that teaching art deepened his connection to his artistic practice. Matthew then graduated from Rogers State University with a degree in fine arts and became a high school art teacher. After a short career in secondary education, Matthew went to graduate school at the University of Oklahoma where he attained his Masters of Fine Arts degree. -
