Prepare planograms that maximizes retail space utilization; which includes arranging merchandise within classifications using logical adjacencies and merchandise flow, productivity, and gross margin potential. Create merchandising plans for the use of merchandisers and store personnel utilizing AutoCAD 2015.

Job Details:

• Build new and update all assigned department planograms as well as planograms to support Category Solutions and New/ Key Program brochure publications.
• Build and maintain planograms to support seasonal and advertising needs in order to further drive product sales volume and traffic in to our member stores.
• Apply data analytics to the planogram creation process (i.e. member point of sale data, warehouse sales data)
• Develop custom planograms for member projects, as approved by V.P. of Merchandising.
• Complete competitor store merchandising audits as needed (i.e. competitor new store format openings, evaluation of categories/ merchandise by department).
• Develop and execute plans for featuring product and planograms in special merchandising areas at May and October Markets. Assist in staffing booths and selling to members from assigned areas at Markets.
• Respond to member, field staff, and vendor requests for merchandising planogram and category management information. Merchandising Floor Plan Development, store layouts and product adjacencies, as well as generic store layouts

Teach various classes in Construction Graphics Communication, from beginning, required drafting classes for all disciplines to Portfolio Preparation, the last class required for graduation. Software instruction includes AutoCAD 2015 and Revit 2015

Plan, quantify and prepare for production custom designed Axminster carpet. Major clients are high end hotels, casinos, movie theaters and cruise ships. Plan the layout of the carpet, allowing for expected traffic patterns and placing seams for best appearance and longest wear. Reading complex architectural floor plans to create layout plans with full estimation of quantities, roll lengths and other information to permit clients to understand critical details of installation. Utilize knowledge of Axminster carpet manufacturing, performance and installation process to address potential issues and concerns. Prepare and maintain cost documentation.

Served as technical expert on program curriculum for faculty and students. Successfully developed and implemented student retention strategies. Communicated performance expectations to instructional staff, monitored performance (including conducting classroom observations), analyzed key performance indicators, provided coaching and feedback. Assisted with faculty hiring and scheduling, student problem resolution, implanting of new or revised policies and procedures and student orientation and advising. Served as a subject matter expert for students, faculty and advisory committees regarding academic curriculum and technical information. Developed marketing strategies to increase student population within the School of Drafting and Design. Maintained teaching assignments as scheduled.

Produced accurate, conceptual drawings for the construction of both national and international store design members. Drawings include: floor, elevation site merchandise key (signage) and electrical plans. Install, support and manage all aspects of AutoCAD software for the department. Interact with designers, sales staff as well as store owners, managers and vendors. Worked with Merchandising Department and sales staff in determining the most effective product mix for member stores. Solicited quotes from fixture and lighting vendors. Attended company hosted markets to assist in the Special Exhibit area.

Taught ARET 123 Construction Graphics Communication, a beginning required drafting class for all disciplines. The focus of the class was to teach the student how to graphically present drawings in a clear and concise manner so that the designs may be clearly understood by a client and/or professional architect or engineer. Both hand drafting and computer-aided drafting techniques were presented. The student began with simple 2-D drawings and progressed to a final project of the student’s choice to be completed utilizing all the drafting tools presented in class.

Completed various design projects as well as introducing the production of AutoCAD drawings into the design process. Created office drawing standards within AutoCAD. Noted projects include: Physicians Health Plan offices, Fort Wayne National Bank Distribution Center and various offices for Lincoln Life.
