An Outreach Mentor works within the Marketing and Communications department to help promote the University to school and college students. Outreach Mentors work with students from Year 7-13, promoting the idea of Higher Education using informative presentations, workshops, activities and visit days. As an Outreach Mentor, we have to have a professional manner, ability to work in a team. be passionate about our degree subject and be enthusiastic, to inspire the younger people to want to progress into higher education in the future.

This was a voluntary work experience week.

A live brief was set, to design a logo for Thind Advisory Management Company, working alongside a senior graphic designer and the managing and creative director of TMC. During the work experience, a portfolio was created to present concept designs in a clean and professional way. I gained experience of contributing in team meetings, sharing ideas, accepting criticisms and acting upon them.

This week gave me the opportunity and insight into the graphic design industry.
