Trippy is a community of travelers giving advice to one another. I worked with Trippy on acquisition flow and increasing engagement with the product. I developed recommendations using gamification and content organization techniques to increase usage and value.
In order to have the best travel information out there, I recommended a strong gamification system to create a rewarding experience while users give advice to one another. I suggested a tactic of surfacing specific questions along with information about the user asking the question to help make users feel more connected to one another and likely to answer.
The curation of information is the key to Trippy's eventual success, so a key part of their business model will be tagging organically written travel advice with location data, sentiment keywords, and creating a schema of similar recommendations so that they can create a highly personalized experience later on when enough content has been generated.
Using the tagging system, we can later provide very interesting, personalized, dynamically created itineraries based on restaurants, hotels, and activities that are most frequently recommended by people likely to have interests similar to the users.
