I am a Fashion Design Certificate Graduate from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. My passion for design transpired from my great interest in the worlds of fashion and art. Growing up in Abu Dhabi and living in London gave me great insight into the world of European and multicultural fashion and art. In London I was exposed to the underground and street fashion scene. It has developed my personal style and made me step out of my comfort zone to evolve my style into what it is today. It has nurtured my artistic and visual creativity and taken me to new heights. I now express my love for dressing up and styling outfits through my fashion blog “Stilettos and Substance”.
I am eager to learn and work with a successful fashion design brand and indulge in the creative process of trend forecasting and creating collections for the coming seasons. In return, I express an immense amount of the creative gene and will contribute my creative efforts to every task or project assigned to me. My imagination and design aesthetic is rather feminine with an eccentric touch. I always include an element of surprise whether it’s in the detail of the garment, the buttons or in the accessories.
My background in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology sharpened my perception of geometric shapes and prints and has given me an unusual outlook on my approach to fashion design. I have an intricate eye for detail and an ability to dismember details in everyday garments (such as buttons, collars, style lines, fabric detail), and reassemble them in a completely different yet stimulating manner. I enjoy the challenge of isolating couture elements and incorporating them subtly into ready-to-wear garments.
