I started at Viatek contributing to the graphics team’s responsibilities including packaging design, Instructions, and product photography.
Over the course of two years, my role evolved more into the engineering & new product development teams. I began by modifying existing CAD but eventually started redesigning products and creating new designs. After three years, a number of my designs have already been produced, marketed and sold.

POP/OR product Designer
SMP/Variamed/Spectas
Chattanooga, TN
Jan 2011 - Oct 2015 (4 years 9 months)
At SMP I developed Point Of Purchase displays along client briefs. I came up with numerous creative POP solutions per week many seeing wide production. I also designed graphics for prototypes, developed instruction sheets and modelled various products and parts for projects as needed. One highlight was a new mechanism for attaching small baskets to the sides of displays with 1” tube legs without the need for hardware or tools.
I was also part of a small team which developed a line of capital equipment for heavy ortho. cases and a number of other products focused around equipment an processes used during surgical procedures. My biggest contribution was designing the a hydraulic IV stand. My favorite details include a five pedal design so the lift could be activated no matter which way the stand was oriented, an ergonomic handle and trim pieces.
