Oceanair are world leaders in the design and manufacture of marine blinds, shades and soft furnishings since 1990. Notable clientele include Sunseeker International, Fairline and Princess Yachts. My role at Oceanair has included assisting with the design and development of new products and components, producing production drawings and assisting with the design of custom projects.
By working in a team environent, I have had the opportunity to further my knowledge of manufacturing processess and material selection, having had several of my designs manufactured. Furthermore, the design process at Oceanair has also given me the opportunity to develop Solidworks and AutoCAD capabilities and utulise 3D printing to evaluate concepts. By assisting with the design of custom projects, I have had the chance to learn about how to perceive client requests and create a solution that overcomes limitations and meets the clients expectations
Design & Compliance Engineer
TM Safety Signs

TM Safety Signs specialise in the design and manufacture of Traffic Management Safety Products. Here I was given the responsibility of gaining compliance from the Highways Agency for TM Safety Signs four main products. This involved creating technical files consisting of 2D drawings, product details and testing. Compliance was achieved for three of the products in March 2013 with the fourth, a newly designed product, gaining compliance in the summer of 2013.
Once compliance had been accomplished I became involved in product development. This required the creation of 3D CAD renders and 3D printing for a prototype, which aided in gaining a contract, which saw 150 of the newly developed SmartBlind unit being installed on the M25 in January 2014. This eventually rose to 250 by June.
