Reggal Original is an integrated signalling system for bicycles that uses LED lights to inform motorists of the cyclist’s directional intentions.
Reggal Original aims to bring a luxurious feel to road safety equipment for cyclists. It allows a cyclist to indicate their intended direction. It also has other functions reminiscent of car signalling systems, such as hazard lights. Visibility plays a huge part in cyclist safety, and Reggal Original has been designed in a way that allows motorists to see the cyclist’s signals from most angles. A timer function has been incorporated to stop a signal in the event that the cyclist forgets to switch off the signal after making a turn.
Compactness of form was a chief consideration so that the look and profile of one’s bicycle can be preserved. Five prototype versions of the design were explored in the interests of minimising the bulk and maximising the sense of a high-quality product.
